The Regional Government and the local governments of Áncash presented a portfolio of 40 identified projects, with an estimated investment of S/ 5,647 million, to be developed through Public-Private Partnership (PPP), Asset Projects (PA) and Works for Taxes (OxI), in order to reduce the gap in infrastructure and public services in the country.
These are the Chinecas Irrigation Project (S/ 2,590 million) and the Modernization of the Chimbote Port Terminal (S/ 740 million); as well as the Improvement and Expansion of Services of the Víctor Ramos Guardia Hospital (S/ 1,043 million), the largest Works for Taxes project to be executed at the national level.
At the local level, the Provincial Municipalities of Huaraz, Santa, Yungay, Carhuaz, Casma, Huarmey, San Marcos; as well as the District Municipalities of Independencia and Nuevo Chimbote jointly presented projects to be executed through the modalities of PPP, Projects in Assets and Works for Taxes for S/ 1,274 million, as a reference investment.
This portfolio includes the Chimbote Cable Car System (Santa) and the Huascarán Cable Car (Yungay); the Improvement and Expansion of the Urban Walkability of Anchoveta Avenue (Nuevo Chimbote), Creation of Vehicular Walkability on the Upper Bank of the Mosna River (San Marcos), Improvement and Expansion of the Primary Education Service in IE 89501 (Santa), among others.
These projects, focused on the areas of irrigation, tourism, urban roads, education, health and public infrastructure, were identified with the technical support of PROINVERSIÓN, within the framework of the agency’s decentralization strategy, which consists of providing support to entities subnationals and promote initiatives of social impact and public value.
The Private Investment Promotion Agency – PROINVERSIÓN organized the Áncash Invierte Forum, where the regional governor, Fabián Koki Noriega, promoted a series of public-private projects of his entity that require an estimated investment of S/ 4,373 million.
The executive director of PROINVERSIÓN, José Salardi, reiterated his commitment to decentralize investment promotion, hand in hand with regional and local authorities of Ancash and the private sector, to generate infrastructure and public services for the benefit of the population.
In turn, the regional governor of Ancash, Fabián Koki Noriega, thanked PROINVERSIÓN for the continuous technical support to promote public-private investments and highlighted the technical, transparent and competent work of the agency to improve the quality of life of Ancash residents.
The event also included the participation of the congresswoman of the Republic, Nilza Chacón; the director of Decentralized Investments of PROINVERSIÓN, Denisse Miralles; the provincial mayors of Huaraz and Yungay, David Rosales and José Romero, respectively, among other officials.
