The 28-year-old leader of the “blue-yellows” most of all took part in the triumph of the Ukrainian team in the tournament. She became the most productive member of the national team and the second scorer of the Golden Euroleague in general (152 points).
“I didn’t expect that I would be chosen as the best player. But of course I wanted to … I didn’t know whether they would choose me or not. I didn’t think about it, I just thought about the victory of the national team. This is a very important victory for us, because we are a fairly young team and so many young girls play for the national team. This is such a step forward for us,” said Kraiduba.
The experienced diagonal player became the second Ukrainian with the Euroleague Golden MVP title. At the 2017 tournament, Anna Stepanyuk, the Blue-and-Yellows’ back-player, was recognized as the most valuable. Kraiduba, along with the libero Nemtseva and the central blocker Dorsman, were in the applications of the Ukrainian national team in both draws.
Who is Anastasia Kraiduba
A native of Evpatoria, a pupil of the local “Kirkenitida”. She made her professional debut with her home team.
In 2013, she moved to Khimik from Yuzhny. In the ranks of the team from the Odessa region, she won 5 champion titles. After short performances in the Krasnoyarsk “Yenisei” and “Budovlyany” from Lodz, she ended up in the Kamensk “Prometheus”. With a grand won the sixth “gold” of the Superleague.
