Anas Urbaningrum officially elected by acclamation as General Chairperson of the Nusantara Awakening Party (PKN) period 2023-2028. The decision was taken at the PKN Extraordinary National Conference (Munaslub) in Jakarta, Friday (14/7).
When delivering his first speech as chairman, Anas said his task was now very heavy. According to him, leading a party is not easy.
“Tonight, I was entrusted with directly leading the PKN. It was a really tough task,” said Anas.
Anas, who was once the general chairman of the Democratic Party, said that now is the time for the party to work harder. He promised to become a leader who will bring a solid and intact PKN to welcome the 2024 elections.
“This is the moment where the situation is full of challenges. This is the moment where the situation has to make us work harder,” he said.
He also invited all PKN cadres to work together. Anas said there is nothing lower or higher. Anas asked all cadres to give their best contribution.
“And the best contribution is when it is stitched with inner bond, feeling, commitment, and hard work, those stitches are what we are sure will become a political achievement that we can be proud of together,” he said.
Anas emphasized that his position as general chairman does not make him the highest or the best in PKN. He said the highest is the ideals of the party.
“I’m not the greatest. I’m not the tallest among all of you. Therefore, for us, the highest is our common goal,” he said.
