An anarchist group, which is part of the worldwide Switch Off movement, claimed the burning of eight trucks from Melon Cements and Aggregates Rio Maipowhich occurred over the weekend in the town of Llolleo, commune of San Antonio.
Through a statement The attack is the “third act of sabotage against companies that depredate life” along the Maipo River, which they consider an “offensive against companies that fuel the ecological catastrophe” at the mouth of that torrent.
The provincial presidential delegate of San Antonio, Caroline Sireauindicated that “within the investigation process that is being carried out, both by the Fire Department and also by the Carabineros, it has been possible to determine the use of accelerants, and therefore, the intervention of third parties“.
“It is for this reason that the Ministry has decided to file this complaint, and We are waiting for the results of the investigation “which is being handled by the Public Prosecutor’s Office,” said the provincial authority, although without mentioning whether the ministry will invoke a more severe law against crimes of this type.

Meanwhile, the Chilean Chamber of Construction (CChC) expressed its “total condemnation and absolute concern” for this attack, calling on the authorities to pursue those responsible for this act, “understanding that Security is a basic condition for development and investment in our countrywhich is why it is extremely urgent to take the necessary measures to ensure that these events do not affect the national territory.”
