Bola.net – Former AC Milan coach, Arrigo Sacchi, revealed what went wrong on the pitch so that the Rossoneri could be beaten by PSG.
Milan dueled against PSG on matchday 3 of Group F of the 2023/2024 Champions League at the Parc des Princes, Thursday (26/10/2023). The Rossonari initially looked like they would be able to hold back the hosts’ pace.
But in the end they lost badly 3-0. PSG’s goals were scored by Kylian Mbappe, Randal Kolo Muani and Lee Kang-in.
PSG could have won with a bigger score. Because there were several opportunities that Luis Enrique’s team’s attack line could not execute.

Milan’s depravity
AC Milan’s performance in the match against PSG was analyzed by Arrigo Sacchi. He then revealed what mistakes Stefano Pioli’s team had made on the field.
According to him, the Milan squad played less closely. They also said they couldn’t predict that PSG would use a counterattack strategy.
Even though this tactic should come as no surprise to Milan or anyone else. The reason is that PSG has fast players like Ousmane Dembele and Kylian Mbappe in their attack line.
“Despite the results that often influence the scoring in Italy, let’s look at how the Rossoneri were on the pitch: they stretched and were often surprised by the French team’s counter-attacks (which would not have happened if the opponents had Dembele and Mbappe),” he wrote in his column for Gazzetta dello Sportvia Always Milan.

Arrigo Sacchi also said that AC Milan’s game was a mess. Each line did not play compactly.
They also said they had difficulty translating Stefano Pioli’s ideas on the pitch. Sacchi also said that Milan was lucky not to lose with a bigger score than PSG.
“There is no connection between the attack line and the midfield, and between the midfield and the defense line. In short: Milan is not a team, they are not a collective. “Unfortunately, the game was interpreted and executed badly,” he explained.
“I see a lot of confusion in ideas and implementation. There was never any order on the field. “It’s true that the Rossoneri had several chances, but it’s also true that France always controlled the game and could have scored several more goals,” he wrote.
