Dinesh Karthik pointed out where captain Rohit Sharma and the Indian team went wrong in the first cricket test against England. Karthik assessed that India did not bowl well in the second innings and Rohit made a big mistake in the fielding arrangement.
India certainly did not bowl well in the second innings. One thing that Rohit Sharma will have to do in the next Test is not accept the fielding that the bowler sets up. Many a times I have seen bowlers try to have a more defensive fielding arrangement. Rohit has to force the bowlers to adjust the field which is more attacking.
At least against England’s wicketkeepers and newcomers to the crease, such fielding should be prepared. Rohit Sharma needs to understand one thing in Test cricket. He needs to be more aggressive with the ball as well as with his batting.
A batsman at number 9 or 10 cannot easily take singles on turning pitches as soon as he reaches the crease, nor should he be allowed to do so. It’s time to hold them back with more energy.
