Analavory: A notorious bandit shot dead by the police

The police ended Narindra’s life.

Last Wednesday, a long-wanted bandit, known as Narindra, was shot dead by police in Analavory. The incident took place after Narindra robbed a house, taking with him cash and two poultry birds.

According to information provided by authorities, Narindra was apprehended by members of the local community, the fokonolona, in the fokontany of Ankilinabo, Analavory, while trying to escape after his crime. The fokonolona acted quickly to arrest him, and that’s when the gendarmes intervened to take charge of the bandit.

Despite his arrest, Narindra attempted to escape once again in front of the police, showing great determination to avoid capture. This led to a chase through two fokontany, with eight gendarmes and the fokonolona chasing after him.

The police were forced to use force as Narindra refused to surrender. During the confrontation, he was hit by a bullet in the foot. Despite efforts to save him, the bandit succumbed to his injuries.

This tragic episode puts an end to the hunt for a notorious bandit who had been wanted for a long time by the authorities. He was involved in an attack in Bemahatazana, in the Bongolava region, in 2020, during which one person lost his life. He was also accused of threatening his neighbors by promising to burn their houses if they dared to denounce him.

After his death, Narindra’s body was handed over to his family for proper burial rites.

This incident highlights the challenges law enforcement faces when combating crime, as well as the importance of collaboration between local communities and authorities to maintain peace and security.
