The journalist ponferradina Ana Vives, 49 years old and who since 2019 was the director of the newspaper Huelva Información, died this Friday in the Huelva capital victim of a cancer against which she had been fighting for several years.
The newspaper reports this Saturday of the death and highlights that Vives was a “tireless worker with an excellent sense of the journalistic profession, and a firm defender of the values and responsibilities that it entails.”
Born in Ponferrada (León) on July 17, 1971, she spent much of her life in Pamplona, where she graduated in Information Sciences, as the Huelva Press Association recalls in a statement.
Since 1995 he developed his professional work in the province of Huelva, where he was part of the founding team of Teleonuba, until he served as head of the chain’s information services.
Since 2007 she has been part of the staff of Huelva Información and in February 2019 she was appointed director of the Huelva newspaper, the first journalist to hold that position.
In 2017 she received the Huelva Journalism Prize awarded by the Huelva Press Association for the report ‘A new look at life’, where she addressed breast cancer.
