Nothing is the same in life Ana Obregon since Aless Lequio, his son, passed away in May 2020 at just 27 years old. Since then, television has not stopped reminding him at all times and he has been constantly on the move in order to continue his legacy, especially in the fight against cancer. One of those promises to his son before he left was to continue with the Aless project, the foundation that bears his name, a non-profit entity that raises funds for research against the disease, which takes so many lives. In addition, Aless had another project on his hands: his book. Now his mother is taking care of finishing it for him.
“My Aless: I have been immersed in the writing of the book for more than 8 months that will carry inside the jewel that you started. Next month it will finally be finished. I still remember the day that after a chemo you told me: ‘Mom, when I finish writing it, I will publish it and I will donate the profits to cancer research,’ “Ana expressed through a publication on social networks. These pages, the young man began to write in the hospital, and address what life is like for a young man with cancer.
A few months after the 3rd anniversary of his death, and after having drawn strength from where there was none, the presenter resumed this summer the project that his son was so excited about. In addition, Obregón has revealed the title of these memories. “The boy with the shrews”, that’s what he will be called, since it is a phrase that the television station used to say to Aless when he was little.
“You couldn’t finish it. I am filled with rage and infinite pain for everything. But I also want you to know the emotion and pride I feel when one of the best editors in this country tells me that what you wrote is impressive and that you had a great talent”, he expressed with great sadness and pride at the same time in the shared publication. “I will finish it for you. To inspire. To raise awareness. For your foundation. For cancer research. To learn to appreciate every moment of this gift called life,” she ended by saying.
Ana often remembers her son Aless on her social media
It was in June 2022 when the presenter herself revealed to her followers that she had taken up the book that her son could not finish. “It took me almost a year to be able to read it. His writing talent could not be left in a drawer. He always told me that his greatest desire was to publish it,” she said at the time. Now, that moment has arrived, and very soon Aless’s lyrics will be in all bookstores, to contribute to the fight against the disease that claimed her life.
The reality is that the last few months have been the hardest for Ana Obregón. Antonio García, his father, passed away last September. Added to this great loss was that of his son in May 2020. In addition, it should be remembered that just a year later, Ana, his mother, died. Without a doubt, these last years have been forgotten. However, Ana draws strength from where she does not have to continue fighting for everything that Aless believed.
