Mexico City. Ana Guevara, head of Conade, arrived with her sword drawn at the press conference in which she announced her results after the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
The Sonoran applauded the performance of the 107 athletes who competed in the event but also referred to the media that questioned her presence and activities in the French capital.
“The more they screw me, the more I grow,” said the former sprinter when asked about criticism of her management and administration of public resources.
The Olympic medalist reiterated that she will submit clear accounts at the end of her term. “We are the most audited administration and they have not found anything,” she added.
Guevara announced that he will present an initiative to increase the lifetime scholarship for Olympic medalists.
“The Treasury will determine how much the increase will be. I think it is a matter of justice because many of them depend on that money.”
Ana spoke out about criticism over her spending in Paris.
“I traveled first class on doctor’s orders. I paid for my flight and my meals out of my own pocket. I eat what I earn, spread it on myself and wear it whatever the hell I want.”
He declined to comment on his possible successor. “I have no advice or opinion on that, now it’s time to prepare for the Paralympic Games.”
The leader also referred to the poor performance of taekwondo at the Games.
“They failed us. In the case of Sansores, he did not act like a world champion. The president of the Federation will have to be held accountable.”
