The management of women’s national teams announced the departure of Ana Galindo from the position of technical director, after five years of leading different processes, from the U-15 to the U-20.
“The experience and knowledge that she contributed throughout these years left an important mark on Mexican soccer, as well as being fundamental for the development of women’s soccer in the different categories,” the statement said.
In 2022, Galindo was in charge of the U-17 men’s representative team, which she led in three games (one win, one draw and one loss), becoming the first woman to lead a team of national teams in Mexico.
Among the trophies won by the young coach, the Concacaf U-20 championship in 2023 and the Dallas U-15 Cup stand out. Andrea Rodebaugh, director of the women’s representatives, explained that Galindo’s departure “occurred on good terms” and responds to the intention of “generating a change” in the structure of the Tricolor.
Friendly in Mérida
The Mexicans will face Panama on December 3 at the Carlos Iturralde stadium, in Mérida, in a preparation match for the World Cup qualifiers that had the support of the Venados FC board.
