Pottery, jewelry or recipe classes around gluttony, this is the proposal of Wecandoo. Since March 19, this national platform has offered thirteen workshops with artisans in Dijon. Among the workshops, we find the visit of‘a Dijon brasserie, “A monkey in winter”, located rue François-Robert, near rue Monge.
A place accessible to the public
The place is managed by two brothers, Quentin, brewer and Pierre-Elie Chapuis, who provides tours of the brewery: “We will first discover the place, an old flour mill on three floors which has been refurbished,” assures Pierre-Elie Chapuis. “We will also discuss the entire brewing process that is set up in a brewing room that is accessible to the public and also discover the raw materials that are involved in the process such as hops and malt, two products that we bring in Alsace and Germany. ”
And even if at this time the tastings are suspended because of the health crisis, customers can buy beer kegs with tap or bottles with a capacity of two liters. According to Pierre-Elie Chapuis, the idea of promoting beer brewing in the heart of the city is the goal.
For the record, the name given to the brewery “A sign in winter” is a nod and refers to the famous classic of French cinema in which Jean-Paul Belmondo and Jean Gabin spend a memorable night of drunkenness.
