An unusual image of the Palau de la Música

I would like to share in the Photos of the Readers of La Vanguardia this less seen image of the Palau de la Música Catalana, located in Sant Pere més Alt street in Barcelona.

It is not the usual postcard of its fantastic auditorium, but a perspective from one of its balconies, in which you can appreciate the modernism of the building, the work of the Barcelona architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner.

The central location, but between very narrow streets, made the architect take into account to give continuity to the spaces by projecting balconies and playing with the exterior forms.

The Palau de la Música was built between 1905 and 1908 to house the activities of the Orfeó Català, a Catalan choral society founded at the end of the 19th century, initially formed by a male choir that, little by little and adapting to the times, was incorporating women to his musical activity.

The Orfeó was consolidated and became a symbol of Catalan culture and the bourgeoisie of the time.

In this time of restrictions on concerts and shows, discovering the beauty of the Palau, in one of the many guided tours that are organized, is a good alternative to closely follow the culture and support the music, to which so many good times we owe. .

I have visited it a few days ago, with all the sanitary measures they offer, and it seemed like a good plan, without a doubt, for sightseeing in the city.
