Traveling from one point to another in New York across the water is still a good option via the ferry. Of course, since Monday, the fare prices have changed.
“They went up a little, but still lower than an Uber or a taxi,” says Gabriel Rivera, a user of this mode of transport.
The one-way ticket costs $ 4 dollars. If you buy 10 tickets in advance, you pay $ 27.50 and each way costs $ 2.75, the same value as a train ticket.
People 65 years of age or older, with disabilities or low income can pay $ 1.35 per ticket, if they apply the discount Fair rates o Fair rates via the ferry website. They can also fill out a form at Wall Street’s Pier 11 station.

At NY1 Noticias we spoke with several users of the system.
María Luisa Imbachí sees everything positively: “I feel it is a way to make a mini ‘escape’ at an advantageous price and, at the same time, see the city, see the buildingsEverything is like a mini experience ”.
Alejandra Mora, came for tourism and does not think the same: “It was a bit expensive for us, the truth is that four dollars one way is a bit excessive for tourists”.
Sherri Vasco, a user of the service, claims that: “Normally I go to the beach, I go faster, a better view. Very nice, very easy. It is here, at the foot of where I live, but it costs a lot! ”.
The New York ferry has five interconnected routes that take you to Manhattan, Brooklyn, The Bronx and Queens.
Plus, there’s the Saint George to Manhattan route that takes you to Staten Island.
“Very comfortable, there weren’t many people, well, a lot of queues, a lot of waiting. We were able to do this, we made several stops, but we saw the city from the river and saw the bridges and all of Manhattan. Very nice, ”says Miguel Vanegas, a tourist from New York.
We asked Jocelyn Vásquez, a user of the service, and he said: “I think it is safer, more comfortable and also more punctual”.
Some routes start from 6 in the morning until 8 or 9 in the evening, thus offering an alternative transport for the whole city.
