TetrisJon S. Baird’s film for Apple TV+ with Taron Egerton in the lead role, was unveiled in an unlikely trailer.
Taron Egerton has a knack for getting involved in productions that are atypical to say the least. After the animated film All on stage where he sang I’m Still Standinghe met Elton John in the saga Kingsman who revealed it and where he made his fists speak. He then played the composer in the biopic Rocketman. Suffice to say that the actor has a unique career (his ski jumps in Eddie the Eagle up to its dubbing in Dark Crystal: Time of Resistance et Watership Down for evidence).
And if Taron Egerton refused to play for Marvel and Star Wars, it is to better pursue his curious momentum by committing to the finally canceled remake of The Little Shop of Horrors. It doesn’t matter, his agenda has found another choice proposal with Tetris. Originally sold as a biopic at the The Social Network on the key personalities who made the success of the game, Apple TV+ movie trailer revealed much more extravagant intentions.
So…where to start? In 1988, Henk Rogers discovered Tetris, fell madly in love with the game and set out to make it known throughout the world. But what initially announced itself as a kind of biopic in a way The founder – just trade McDo for Tetris – turns into a spy thriller with this promoter embarked on a race against time in the midst of the Cold War.
Naturally, the historical biopic is adorned witha dull photograph, characteristic of this kind of production. However, this academicism is counterbalanced by quantity of small plastic finds like those touches of eccentricity with a few pixel art shots that even interfere with the readability of an action scene.
We recognize that the typical madness of Marv Films productionsthe British production company founded in 2004 by Matthew Vaughn, which includes all his films (except X-Men: The Beginning), but also happy end of the world, Rocketman et Eddie the Eagle. Besides, one would almost believe certain plans come out of a The King’s Man with these tanks rolling around in Moscow.
Plus Jon S. Baird at the controlswell-honed in the exercise of the proposal decked out in the eternal “Inspired by a True Story” After Stan & Ollie, the company can be a pleasant surprise. Answer March 31, 2023 on Apple TV+.
