An unknown military drone was able to cross the border between Russia and Ukraine.
The Security Service of Ukraine reports that on August 27, 2021, an unknown military drone was able to cross the Russian-Ukrainian border and conducted continuous monitoring of the military exercise area of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It is reported that, for unknown reasons, the drone was not detected by the Ukrainian air defense, and after the aircraft was visually detected, it turned out that the air defense simply could not capture the target.
“The Ukrainian security service in the Kharkiv region identified a strike drone with foreign-made markings. The drone flew over the Kharkov region. In this sense, we ask that you respond appropriately to the legal requirements of law enforcement officers. If in your field of vision there are people who show an unjustified interest in transportation infrastructure, military installations, government buildings and administration, using video media, photographic recording, unmanned aerial vehicles, please inform the SBU Directorate in the Kharkiv region without delay “, – said in the message of the SBU.
In the context of such a message, unofficial information appeared that we are talking about a Russian unmanned aerial vehicle. The Ukrainian side does not officially confirm this information. It is also not reported how much the unknown military drone sank in Ukraine’s airspace, which is obviously due to Kiev’s reluctance to admit the futility of the country’s air defense system.
