The Cologne public prosecutor’s office and police announce:
On Thursday evening (November 28), an unknown person is said to have pushed a 55-year-old man into the line bed in front of the incoming light rail at the Zülpicher Platz stop. It is said that the suspect then got on the train, but left it again some time later and fled towards the Mauritius Wall. At around 1pm, it is said that the Cologne resident had been waiting at the stop for tram line 9 in the direction of Sülz when he was suddenly pushed from behind onto the track bed for unknown reasons. The light rail was traveling from the Mauritiuskirche stop to Zülpicher Platz when it had to make an emergency stop at the stop. The 55-year-old suffered minor injuries. A homicide team has been established and they have started investigating the background.
The suspect is described as follows: – vague appearance – male – approx. 35 years old – approx. 1.80 meters tall – gray coat with hood – curly black hair
