“If one motorcycle uses 1 liter of fuel, it can travel 35 km and emit 2.5 kg of CO2 emissions. If you use Pertamax fuel per liter, Rp. 13,700, which is equivalent to 1 Kwh for Rp. 2,400, his savings will be Rp. 11,300,” said Dadan.

ESDM said that the calculation was tested for the electricity consumption of 1 Kwh of an electric motorcycle for 35 kilometers for 10 thousand hours.

In addition, the ownership of electric motorcycles is now changing, it can even be zero rupiah. Because the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has launched 1,000 free electric motorcycle conversions.

The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources in the period 2023-2024 has launched a free conversion program for vocational schools in Jabodetabek, West Java, East Java, NTB and Bali and East Kalimantan.

In addition to the free motlis conversion program for vocational schools, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has also launched a free conversion program for the general public in the Jabodetabek region. In phase 1 there are 500 units and 500 units for phase 2 in 2024. The company’s support is in the form of providing CSR funds of IDR 6 million/motorcycle unit to reduce conversion costs.

The cost of converting a petrol motorcycle to an electric motorcycle costs around IDR 15 million to IDR 17 million.

Currently, the government has provided a subsidy or support of IDR 10 million. This means that the costs that people have to pay to convert are still high. This difference will be covered by the CSR (corporate social responsibility) programme.

Electric motorcycle conversion is a government program to reduce vehicle pollution and fuel oil imports (BBM), which is an old BBM motorcycle engine replaced with a battery-based electric bike engine.
