Vladimir Putin is constantly accompanied by a doctor who specializes in thyroid cancer, according to a new investigation by the Russian portal “Project”. Surgeon Evgeny Selivanov of Moscow’s Central Clinical Hospital has flown to see the Russian leader at least 35 times and spent 166 days with him in the Black Sea resort of Sochi, the Kremlin owner’s favorite vacation spot.
Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov immediately announced that he was not suffering from cancer, but declined to comment on his health. However, the respected doctor Selivanov has a dissertation on the topic: “Features of the diagnosis and surgical treatment of elderly and senile patients with thyroid cancer.”
The news supports conspiracy theories that Putin declared war on Ukraine at a time when he had health problems hidden from the Russian people.
One version is that he was
treated with steroids,
which led to swelling of his face and neck. Symptoms of this type of cancer include the appearance of a thick nodule in the thyroid gland, hoarse voice, difficulty swallowing, pain in the neck, enlarged lymph nodes, dry cough and a feeling of scratching in the throat.
The investigation shows other medics who travel regularly with Putin, who will turn 70 in October. In addition to the thyroid cancer specialist, the Russian leader is regularly examined by a neurosurgeon and ENT doctor.
According to the “Project” portal, the Russian president has undergone surgery or a very serious back procedure at least twice. These cases coincided with his “disappearance” from the public space, which the media paid attention to in 2016 and 2019.
Otolaryngologist Alexei Shcheglov was even photographed with Putin. An Israeli doctor claims that this is a specialist able to detect at an early stage
problems with
thyroid gland
and immediately refer the patient to an oncologist.
Interestingly, Putin has shown interest in the problem of thyroid cancer in public. In July 2020, he met with the head of the National Medical Research Center for Endocrinology Ivan Dedov, who is the boss of the president’s eldest daughter Maria Vorontsova.
Dedov told the Russian leader about the high prevalence of thyroid cancer and explained about the new hormonal drug “Tyrogin”, which fights metastases after surgery. “95-98% recovery?” Putin asked and heard a positive answer.
The President of Russia, who enjoys adventurous vacations in the forests of Siberia, has also turned to alternative medicine, devoting himself to the practice of bathing in blood extracted from cut deer antlers, Portal writes.
