This week it became known that Dr. Addison Montgomery will return to the TV series next season. The role is played by actress Kate Walsh (53), and the good news was shared on the series’ official Twitter account.

Walsh appeared in the hospital series in the season finale of season one as the wife of Derek Sheperd, played by Patrick Dempsey (55).
She remained as a surgeon in the series for several seasons before leading the spin-off series “Private Practice” from 2007 to 2013.
The actress has previously stated that she had loved the opportunity to once again walk the halls of Gray Sloan Hospital.

When asked by People in March if she would ever return to “Grey’s Anatomy”, she replied: “Absolutely”.
