An ocean of art and science

From October 4 to 14, 2024, the Science Festival celebrated an “Ocean of knowledge” thanks to thousands of interactive and free events, in mainland France, overseas and internationally. The sixth volume of “Science in Bubbles” focuses on the theme of water in all its forms, from the origins of water on our Earth to the question of the lack of snow on our ski slopes and “cultivated snow”, including the relationship that the Etruscans maintained contact with the sea and the coast.

Each of the seven doctoral students was or will be present (until October 26 in New Caledonia) at several events throughout the country, in mainland France and overseas, to share their research subject, the publication of a work or the co-creation of “Water in all its states”.

With a print run of 63,000 copies, this work presents seven short comic strips, the result of collaborative work between the winning doctoral students of the 2024 “Sciences en Bulles” edition and the cartoonist Héloïse Chochoiswhich also illustrated the two previous volumes. Readers, old and young, are invited to discover science in progress through a visual and engaging experience, where creativity and research mingle.
