These days, farmers in An Nhut commune, Long Dien district, Ba Ria-Vung Tau province are busy during the harvest season. In An Nhut rice fields, combine harvesters operate at full capacity; Trucks carrying rice and straw run continuously on the road surrounding the fields.
Recently, a rural food court has been operating on the surrounding road An Nhut rice fields become hot and famous on social networks.
Many people and tourists inside and outside the province visit the food court every afternoon to enjoy rustic dishes at reasonable prices and the view of vast, cool rice fields.
According to the leaders of An Nhut commune, the locality has a large rice area in Long Dien district, the commune’s total winter-spring crop area is 425 hectares, of which 420 hectares are rice, 5 hectares are growing perennial crops (melaleuca). with all kinds of vegetables.
Currently, rice is being harvested in more than 80% of the area, the average rice yield is estimated at 7-7.5 tons/ha. An Nhut commune has 583 households producing rice.
Mr. Huynh Trung Thanh (living in Dong Trung hamlet, An Nhut commune) said his family has about 2 hectares of rice planted and finished harvesting on April 4.
This year’s rice crop is good but the price is a bit lower than last year. Thanks to convenient roads, people’s transportation of rice and straw is much more convenient.
Thanks to the much promoted An Nhut rice field, the roads around the rice fields are spacious and clean with road markings, signs, and solar lights.
It is known that the road around the rice fields in An Nhut commune has a length of more than 2 km, with a total cost of more than 10 billion VND invested by the provincial budget and Long Dien district in the new rural program.
Previously, the road around the fields was convenient for people to farm, transport, and harvest rice. But recently, with the attention of the province and district, this route has been upgraded to be wider and more beautiful.
In Long Dien district in particular and Ba Ria-Vung Tau province in general, infield roads and water canal systems have been upgraded and expanded to make it most convenient for farmers.
