An iron curtain descends. Lavrov spoke about the dialogue with the EU

A new “iron curtain” is descending between the West and Russia, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said today at a press conference in Minsk with his Belarusian counterpart Vladimir Makei, Russian media reported, reported BTA. “The process has already started”… But let the West be careful, “not to pinch something”, Lavrov joked, answering a journalist’s question about Moscow’s relations with the West.

Lavrov noted that Russia has not maintained relations with the EU since 2014, after the European authorities supported the events in Ukraine, which he called a “coup d’état”. Since then, there have only been “one-off technical contacts”, the Russian foreign minister said, accusing the European Union of disrupting bilateral dialogue at various summits and other forums.
