An investigator with the Garda Siochana Ombudsman Commission (GSOC) has resigned after being accused of attending a house party for acquitted murder suspect Gerry Hutch. Hutch had been found not guilty of the murder of David Byrne, and sources claim that a party was thrown at a Dublin property to celebrate. The officer, who was part of the investigation into Detective Superintendent Colm Fox’s death, reportedly attended the party, which was allegedly attended by close friends and family of Hutch. The officer has not yet been named, and GSOC has declined to comment on internal matters. Sources also suggest that gardai have been made aware of the allegations.
