From the Intransigent Radical Ecologist Party (PERI), César Vega is trying to create an investigative commission in Parliament to study the effects of the covid-19 vaccines provided by the State.
According to El País, Vega began to seek support from different political parties for this proposal, with Cabildo Abierto as his first objective.
The political force led by Guido Manini Ríos has some legislators who, for personal reasons, have refused to inoculate themselves against the pandemic virus: the deputy and current vice president of the House of Representatives, Elsa Capillera; the representative of Tacuarembó Rafael Menéndez; and the deputy for Salto Rodrigo Albernaz.
When consulted by said newspaper, Capillera commented that the idea of creating an investigative commission was “well received”; “The idea itself does not seem bad to us. It is the position that some colleagues (from the party) have and we are going to analyze how things are going. It has to be a deep, scientific and serious analysis ”, he expressed, and justified that his position on not getting vaccinated is for reasons of faith.
“By my Christian faith I am of natural immunity. Other than the tetanus shot, I have no other shots. I also don’t take any medication. I have a personal health care ”, said Capillera.
On the subject, the —also lobbyist— Minister of Health, Daniel Salinas, spoke. Consulted by Telemundo, she stated that “she is a national representative, she has the right to express herself. The other national representative (referring to Vega) as well. The entire Parliament has the right to express itself as a representative and as a citizen ”. That said, he confessed that this opinion “does not represent me.”
