The year 2022 represents an important event in the history of the theater in general, due to its association with the completion of four centuries since the birth of the immortal poet and playwright Molière, and to mark this occasion, the Carthage Theater Days In collaboration with the Tunisian Association of Drama Critics, under the supervision of Dr. Hamdi Al Hamaidi, an international symposium entitled “Molière in the mirror of Arab and African theater”.
This symposium highlights “the entry of Arabs into the world of the fourth art by translating and presenting the works of this outstanding artist, who was also a platform for Greek-French theater to achieve educational goals and to raise issues of the specificity of dramatic works creativity on the brown continent.”
The symposium discusses several aspects, mainly including translation, citation and adaptation according to the needs of the local reality, the practical response to the theatrical performance and the inevitability of transgressing the approved modality.
The Carthage Theatrical Days is a competitive festival whose official competition features 12 theater plays competing for its awards, to be announced on December 10th. The State of Senegal will be the guest of honor of the 23rd session, and the festival is managed by Nissaf Ben Hafsiya, Al-Mansouri, Saif al-Din al-Farshishi, Muhammad Mounir al-Araqi, Muhammad Hadi Belkhir, Moez Murabet and Salim Dabirah.
