The star, originally from the Canadian province of Quebec, was struck by a video clip she posted on her account, in which she explained that she has been suffering from “health problems for a long time.”
“I was recently diagnosed with a very rare neurological disease, stiff person syndrome,” she said.
Due to this disease, which results in progressive stiffening of the muscles, Celine Dion became afflicted with walking difficulties, while the disorder also prevented her from “using her vocal cords” in the way she wanted, according to the singer.
She added: “It saddens me to inform you today that I won’t be ready to complete my tour of Europe in February,” noting that an “excellent team of doctors” are taking care of her health.
Dion was due to resume the European tour at the end of February from the Czech Republic.
Dion performed the first 52 concerts of the tour before the spread of the Corona pandemic in early 2020.
Then, last January, the Canadian star announced the cancellation of his North American concerts as part of this tour due to his health issues.
