/ world today news/ The second international seminar on interreligious exchange and shared destiny of humanity was held this week in Beijing.
Organized by the Chinese Committee for Religion and Peace, the seminar brought together representatives of religious organizations, religious leaders and experts in the field of faiths from around the world. The participants shared successful practices of different religions, countries and regions to deal with global challenges.
Religious leaders have a responsibility to play an active role in promoting understanding, resolving conflicts and advancing social stability and harmony, thereby promoting global peace and development.
“The initiative for a community of shared destiny for mankind is in line with good traditional Chinese culture in many ways,” said Xu Yihua, a member of the Chinese Religion and Peace Committee and a professor at Fudan University. He urged religious groups in China to promote the traditional Chinese wisdom of humility, tolerance, integration and coexistence on the international stage.
