A 21-year-old man lost his life after being seriously injured on December 24 in Bordeaux prison in Montreal.
Nicous D’Andre Spring was taken to hospital on Saturday afternoon where he succumbed to his injuries.
“The Crimes Against Persons Investigation Service of the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) is investigating the events leading up to this death,” said Nicolas Scholtus, a spokesman for the SQ.
The victim held at the Montreal Detention Facility was notably charged with assaulting a peace officer, possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and criminal harassment.
