The Department of Education, Culture and Sports of the Riga City Council has published the publication “Riga – My Homes. Handbook on Returning to Life in Riga ”, which contains information that will provide support to remigrants returning to life in the city of Riga. A digital version of the publication in four languages ​​is available on the website integracija.riga.lv, Representatives of the Riga City Council informed in a press release. –

The guide provides information on both the preparation steps before moving and what to do while already in Riga. The material summarizes the services provided by the municipality and the state, contacts of various institutions and organizations, as well as support mechanisms to help re-migrant families return to Latvia and successfully start living in Riga.

During the development of the content of the handbook, a survey was conducted and a discussion was organized with non-governmental organizations and representatives of the diaspora on the information to be included in the publication. Various areas were identified, emphasizing the most important information that would be useful for re-emigrants, starting to think about returning to Latvia.

The manual is available in both digital and printed versions in Latvian, Russian, English and German. The print version will be available at the Riga City Council Education, Culture and Sports Department, Riga Municipality Visitor Reception Centers, as well as at the Riga Planning Region Remigration Coordinator.

The handbook was developed by the Department of Education, Culture and Sports of the Riga City Council within the framework of the project “Re-emigration promotion services in municipalities” with the aim of collecting and updating information that would support re-emigrants returning to Riga. The project has been implemented with funding from the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Regional Affairs of the Republic of Latvia and the Riga Planning Region.
