Launching The Sun, here are six signs of unusual symptoms of dementia to watch out for.
1. Confused counting money: According to the US National Aging Institute, difficulty counting money or paying for something when buying something, difficulty understanding bank statements are some of the first visible signs of Alzheimer’s disease.
2. Frequent nightmares: Clinical researcher specializing in neurology at the University of Birmingham, Dr. Abidemi Otaiku, found that children aged 7 to 11 years who frequently experience nightmares are at risk of cognitive decline at age 54.
3. Eating moldy food: Dementia sufferers can also be unconscious if they eat moldy food or even that is no longer suitable, due to a decrease in brain condition.

4. Less fluent in speech: Dementia sufferers are further mentioned often experience mistakes or difficulties in pronouncing words.
5. Easily fooled: A research study from the University of California in 2011, tried to find out that people who suffer from frontotemporal dementia (FTD) show these people are more difficult to pick up on sarcasm.
