Incubators are not just about technological projects: this is the belief of Sébastien Martin, president of Grand Chalon, who wishes to open one in 2023 in Chalon-sur-Saône (Saône-et-Loire) for babysitters. This facility will support professionals who want to set up their own home of maternal assistants (MAM). Authorized since 2010, MAMs allow childminders to get together and work outside the home, while still being employees of the children’s families.
A first promotion will start training between March and April 2023, in the premises of a former nursery school in Chalon-sur-Saône. Trainees will be able to learn how to manage a MAM and will be provided with administrative and financial matters for a period of 1 week per month for three months (renewable once). “We have trained our teams of maternal assistants at the Relais (RAM) so that they can support the project leaders, as happens in a business incubator”, explains the elected official.
