The sports parents are in their second season and in the comedy series we meet Henrik Elvestad (49) in various fictional roles from all over the country.
In TV Series 2, he deals with stereotypical sports parents and their commitment to children.
Tronderrockers
Elvestad plays six different mums and dads for children and young people who play different sports. With different approaches and goals, they are willing to go to great lengths to achieve their goals and those of their children.
One of the characters is Trønder rocker Bjørn Tore Mørtveit, who unintentionally fell into cross-country skiing. His appearance is inspired by a good friend of Elvestad.
– In terms of looks, Thomas Felberg is an inspiration. The make-up artist who helps style these characters came across a wig, detachable and some glasses, and then I looked like Felberg, Elvestad tells TV 2.
– Just to piss me off
Thomas Felberg (50) tells TV 2 he’s never had anything to do with Trøndelag, but thinks it’s funny that Elvestad was inspired.
– It’s always an honor to be parodied, and it’s always an honor to have a personality that makes people want to bring it to the fore – and make it into a fictional character, Felberg tells TV 2.
The former rock musician served as a judge on the NRK Stjernekamp programme, as well as taking viewers on a musical journey to Tidsbonanza. In 2021 it was participant in the popular reality show Farmen celebrity on television 2.
– I messed up so much before, that there’s nothing I can mess with anymore. So it’s just a matter of continuing, she says.
Tronder help
Elvestad spent a lot of time researching to master the dialects. To best convince the dialect of the figure of Trønderrock, he had to get help from a colleague to perfect it.
– In many of these dialects, I had to team up with people who know them well. As for the trønder rocker character, a colleague who is an arch trønder was present and adapted the whole script. Then I had to push it. I liked that Trønder sounded, but I don’t know what Trønder rockers themselves think about it, laughs Elvestad.
– How did you work with the other dialects?
– It’s about sitting down and listening to a podcast with Pia Tjelta for two hours, or Kåre Ingebrigtsen. You have to enter the details and you have to put it in your blood. I spent an enormous amount of time on the dialect washing the scripts – that’s on paper. But then it also helps a lot that the people around me during the recordings actually know the dialects, she says.
Similar to the characters
Of all the characters Henrik Elvestad portrays in the TV series, there are some who look more like him than others. When TV 2 asks who is closest, Elvestad has a clear answer.
– When it comes to the level of aggression, perhaps Chris Bøhmer is closest to me, unfortunately I have to say. I like all the characters I play. They have their strengths and weaknesses which at least I like. My kids think the baby is funny, and the fact that I can look so cute surprises them, concludes Elvestad.
