Basics Essentials was created following requests from developers watching a session of the Build 2020 conference in May during containment.
The idea is to facilitate the installation of extensions that are essential to the developer on a daily basis. To meet this demand, Mads Kristensen, Senior Program Manager, Visual Studio, has therefore created Basics Essentiels, a pack that includes extensions:
- Add New File
- Editor Enhancements
- EditorConfig Language Service
- File Icons
- Insert GUID
- Learn the Shortcut
- Markdown Editor
‘Add New File’ makes it easy to add a file to any project, ‘File Icons’ adds icons to files that the solution explorer does not know. Learn the Shortcut displays the keyboard shortcuts for the commands you issue, to make it easier for you to learn.
