In Kiev, in one of the apartments of a house on Akademik Vernadsky Boulevard, on Saturday, May 15, an explosion thundered, a man born in 1956 was injured. About it reported in the press service of the Moscow State Emergency Service.
It is noted that the incident took place at about 17:50. The cause of the explosion was, preliminarily, a gas leak.
“In one of the apartments on the 3rd floor of a 9-storey residential building, an explosion occurred in the kitchen, followed by burning of garbage on an area of 1 sq. M.”, – stated in the message.

At the time of the explosion, a 65-year-old man was in the apartment. He was hospitalized with burns. In addition, the blast wave damaged the windows of the apartment and neighboring houses.
The circumstances of the incident will be established by law enforcement officers.
