At least seven people were injured after an improvised explosive device went off inside a Husky Tours double-decker bus in Isulan, Sultan Kudarat on Monday. The police are currently investigating the attack and have activated a provincial-level Special Investigation Task Group to handle the case. The victims have been identified as residents of various cities including General Santos, Alabel and Marawi City. The incident follows a previous bus bombing in neighboring Tacurong City in November that resulted in the death of one person and the injury of around a dozen others, which has been attributed to extortion demands allegedly made by the Islamic State-inspired Dawlah Islamiyah. Prior to this latest attack, the police had ramped up security measures in the area.
