An expert pointed out the “Achilles heel” of Putin’s army

There are several factors that influence the failures of the Russian army at the front.

Military expert Vladislav Seleznev called the most significant weak link in the Russian military its motivation. After all, the military-political leadership does not explain anything – what the occupiers are doing in Ukraine, why they have such heavy losses.

As he said in an interview with “Obozrevatel”, despite the mantras in the Kremlin about the “loss”, or rather about 5,000 dead Russian soldiers, the number of burials and widows is clearly higher than these figures.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine estimated as of March 10 the number of liquidated Putin’s military in Ukraine at almost 157,000.

“Obviously, against the background of such losses, the lack of motivation is the main factor affecting the fighting ability of Putin’s army,” Seleznev said.

Another problem of the Russian army, he continued, is not very clear Russian military logistics. And the next is the loss of elite units and divisions of the Russian army during the fighting in Ukraine. And their place is taken by mobilized with a minimal level of training, motivation and security.

On September 21, 2022, Putin announced the so-called “partial mobilization” in Russia. It is officially planned to call about 300 thousand people. In October, the Kremlin was quick to announce that the mobilization was limited, but in fact it continues today.

In early January 2023, the British newspaper The Times, citing Western intelligence, reported that Russia was preparing to announce a new wave of mobilization and send up to 500,000 people to the front.

Military expert Sergei Grabsky assured that Russia is not able to mobilize 20 million people.
