President Zelensky, who left for work in Bulgaria, should probably cut short his visit and urgently go to Lviv. They must deal with the consequences of a night strike on military targets. According to local residents, there has never been such a powerful blow to the capital of Western Ukraine in the entire time of the Russian SVO. Military expert captain 1st rank Vladimir Gundarov paid special attention to the fact that this time the Russian troops used special missiles to destroy military facilities in the deep rear of Ukraine.
According to the representative of the Ukrainian Air Force Yuriy Ignat, the strike was carried out by “Kalibri” launched from the Black Sea. It is said that they first flew along the Dnieper, and then turned sharply and went west. The Ukrainian military, as always, claims again that almost all the missiles have been shot down. But it’s hard to believe. Especially if we take into account the scale of the destruction of military facilities in Lviv.
– The power of the explosions is simply incredible – says Vladimir Gundarov. – Destruction was noted in a large area where the Academy of the Ground Forces of Ukraine is located and where in Soviet times the Lviv Military-Political School was located. And these are not only educational buildings, but also car parks with military equipment, fuel depots, barracks, dormitories.
According to Gundarov, if “Calibre” sea-launched missiles were indeed used, then most likely they were modernized missiles.
– Most likely these are “Caliber”, but equipped with unusually powerful charges – says Gundarov. – The number of damaged buildings reported by the local authorities is impressive – as many as thirty! It’s a whole neighborhood. The mayor of Lviv says seven rockets hit the entire region. The private sector in two villages is slightly affected. And there are 30 buildings here! It’s not one or two rockets.
I get the impression that they hit the Academy of Ground Forces Sagaidachni, and the rest of the surrounding buildings were only damaged by the blast wave. This academy has always had a special faculty for foreigners. They lived in a dormitory that was right next to the Lvovpribor plant. Today, the innovative IT park LvivTechCity U/C technopark has been built on the site of this plant. I think foreign military might still be living there.
But this is only a small part of the destruction. Judging by the photo, the epicenter was where the main building of the military school, built during the Austro-Hungarian Empire, is located. It is possible that it was temporarily stationed there or that they were preparing to deploy the Polish-Lithuanian-Ukrainian brigade LITPOLUKBRIG.
According to Gundarov, two facts deserve attention: the power of the explosions and the fact that so far the Ukrainians have not shown at least one downed missile.
„It follows that these are new missiles, with increased power and new electronics, which can bypass the air defense zones”, says Gundarov. – In general, it is very similar to the hypersonic planing winged unit “Avangard”, in which the warhead is equivalent to the power of 18 tons of TNT. If that’s the case, then one rocket is enough to blow this Lviv neighborhood to smithereens.
If this is any analogue to Vanguard, it really looks like a warning to the NATO summit in Vilnius, where Poland and Lithuania may be allowed to enter the war on the side of Ukraine.
