On May 24, 2009, another event from the program of the Festival of Bulgarian Art and Culture “Bulgarian Seasons 2009” was held in the “Alfa Ar+” gallery, which successfully plays the role of an informal Bulgarian cultural center. This was the opening of the artist’s exhibition. Lydia Simeonova.
The curator of the exhibition – the critic Natalie Trainor, presented the work of Lidiya Simeonova in the form of a multimedia presentation. In his address to the attendees, the Consul General of Bulgaria in New York, Nikolay Milkov, focused on the national meaning of the May 24 holiday, its importance for Bulgarians abroad and introduced the attendees to the remaining events of the Festival program. The event went beyond the framework of the exhibition and became a celebration of the day of Bulgarian culture and Slavic writing. A cocktail party was organized for those present, and the celebration lasted until late in the evening.
