An exhibition dedicated to the legendary Latvian avant-garde music group NSRD will open in Vilnius.

Until February 23, 2025, the exhibition presented at the LNMM Radvilas Palace Art Museum will be the largest exhibition dedicated to the group’s activities abroad in the last 35 years, creating an opportunity to introduce the international audience to the unofficial or underground history of Latvia. art and its influence today. Curators of the exhibition: Māra Traumane (LMA) and Māra Žeikare (LLMC).

NSRD projects and their partners are characterized by interdisciplinary creative activity in literature, music, architecture, performance and video art. The association was founded in 1982 by Hardijs Lediņš and Juris Boiko, including Inguna Rubeni (Chernova) and Imanta Žodžik. In fact, a much wider range of participants took part in the group’s projects, and not all projects of like-minded members – actions, designs and architectural ideas or discos – are related to NSRD.

Presentation NSRD: Transformed Position Information focus on the different models of creative collaboration NSRD, which allowed since the end of the 1970s, despite the restrictions of the Soviet era, NSRD and their associates to implement innovative ideas, using avant-garde, wave new and postmodernist aesthetics in various art forms.

As a legendary society of music and art, NSRD has inspired many contemporary artists and musicians. Maja Kurševa, Evita Vasiļjeva, Kaspars Groševs, text group interacts with the creative heritage of NSRD at the exhibition Orbit (Semyon Hanin, Artūrs Punte, Vladimir Svetlov, Sergej Timofeev) and the music society Allan (Kirils Ćis, Spāre Vītola, Reinis Žodžiks), refers directly to NSRD and responds to the group’s creative energy.

Presentation NSRD: Transformed Position Information opened at the LNMM Radvila Palace Art Museum in Vilnius on November 21 at 18.00 The band will hold an atmospheric video concert on the opening night alleys, musician and performance artist Elizabete Balčus, as well as a musical project Estimated variations (Inguna Rubene and Lauris Vorslavs).

In honor of the show, in collaboration with the Belgian music label STROOM, an additional edition of the NSRD vinyl album will be released (release date to be announced soon).
