An Exclusive Vera Wang Wedding Coat Returns to Its Rightful Owner: The Amazing Story of Kate Hudson’s Lost and Found Treasure

This is an amazing story about how an exclusive item from Vera Wang returned to its rightful owner.

An actress Kate Hudson first married in 2000 to Chris Robinson, lead singer of the Black Crowes. Their wedding took place on December 31 at the ski resort of Aspen, in the US state of Colorado. Since the couple’s wedding was winter, Kate wore a long white fur coat with long sleeves and a collar over her wedding dress.

The actress’s outfit was exclusively created by wedding designer Vera Wang, but Kate has not seen her wedding coat for the past 17 years. In 2006, she separated from her husband and, probably, at that point in her life she decided to take her coat to the dry cleaner, but after that it disappeared without a trace. For many years, Kate tried to find the product, but she was unsuccessful.

But as it turned out, this exclusive outfit was not lost forever and returned to its rightful owner, albeit belatedly. A man named found a dress Chris Damon quite by accident – he bought a warehouse for $2,000 at an auction in New York with everything that was stored in it. Among the things, he found a box containing a long white coat. Of course, he examined the outfit and it had the tag “Custom made by Vera Wang for Kate Hudson”, but he did not believe that he had found a dress of a famous Hollywood star and thought that it was just her namesake. However, Chris did check the address on the tag and discovered that the owner of the property located in Manhattan from where the dress was sent was indeed actress Kate Hudson, so he showed the coat to his cousin Lucille Damonwho runs the vintage clothing store Galipette Vintage in New York, and who, after searching the actress’s wedding photos online, did indeed confirm that the dress belonged to Hudson.

“The coat is made from the softest fur I’ve ever touched. It has a shawl collar and a dramatic train,” the vintage expert told the publication. Insider.

Chris and Lucille found the coat a year ago, but they weren’t able to contact Hudson until earlier this month and decided to give her the item.

“We were fortunate enough to be in contact with Kate’s team and the coat is being returned to its rightful owner, Kate,” Lucille wrote in Instagram and shared pictures of this unique and one-of-a-kind outfit.
