The Crown has found its new prince! Welsh actor Jonathan Pryce, who played The Great Sparrow in Game Of Thrones, will join the cast of seasons 5 and 6 of The Crown as Prince Philip, husband of Queen Elizabeth II, the series’ official account has announced on Twitter.

He will be starring in Imelda Staunton, who will play Netflix’s next drama queen, and Lesley Manville, confirmed in the role of Princess Margaret.
Jonathan Pryce succeeds Tobias Menzies and Matt Smith, who played the Duke of Edinburgh in the series’ first four seasons. The 4th season is expected on Netflix before the end of 2020, and it will be until 2022 to see the Welshman in the costume of Prince Philip.
