an event to discover Turkish cuisine is organized in New York

The “Turkevi Center”, “Turkish house” in downtown New York, USA, organized an event to present and discover Turkish cuisine.

The activities of the “Turkish Cuisine Week” will take place under the leadership of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey, with the support of the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism, from May 21 to 27.

In this context, the Turkish Consulate General in New York organized an event featuring various dishes of Turkish cuisine.

Diplomats, foreign journalists, as well as personalities from the culinary world took part in the event.

In his speech at the opening of the event, Murat Mercan, Turkish Ambassador to Washington, said that culinary diplomacy is one of the “soft power” tools for countries.

He added that through this event, they aim to provide some kind of awareness of the history and culture of Turkish cuisine to the world.
