an evening dedicated to the Afro groove

With a variable geometry brass section, the group formed in 2013 to participate in the high school springboard organized by La Nef d’Angoulême (current music scene). Since then, the group has continued to compose and perform wherever possible. The Lehmanns Brothers develop an intense stage activity throughout Europe (Italy, Germany, England, Luxembourg) by sharing stages with emblematic figures such as Maceo Parker, Fred Wesley or the Wu-Tang Clan, participating in numerous festivals such as the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland , the Dimaa Jazz Festival in Algeria and the Kaliningrad Jazz Festival in Russia.

Influence of Jamiroquai

The finely interpreted compositions are characterized by a sound well identified within the large “afro groove” family. Their “groove” blends jazz chords with elements of hip-hop, neo-soul and house, taking up the challenge of mixing and contemporary interpretation of jazz, funk and afrobeat (a musical genre resulting from a blend of traditional Nigerian music, jazz , highlife, funk and vocals, accompanied by percussion and vocal styles, popularized in Africa in the 70s, being the same highlife a style of African music that appeared in 1900 in Accra in Côte-de-l’Or, now Ghana). Impossible to stay seated in his seat! Behind this unique sound, made of explosive rhythms and incredible vocals, we find the influences of James Brown, Jamiroquai, The Roots or even A Tribe Called Quest.
