SOLIDARITY. Yesterday, visitors to Croc Parc, at Étang-Salé, were able to observe, in addition to the usual animals, groups of humans wandering through the park, pursued by a mad scientist. Let’s be reassured right away, no sordid news items here, but an escape game organized by the city’s Lions Club. “We have a group of teachers within our association who created this game from scratch. We first tested it on friends who told us that we could absolutely offer it to the general public”says Catherine Avril, president of the Lions Club of Etang-Salé.
The principle is simple, a mad scientist has pricked a member of the five teams, representing the five continents. To find the antidote, players must solve several puzzles within an hour to save the world from the spread of a terrible virus. Does this remind you of something ? “We were somewhat inspired by a recent pandemic”, jokes Catherine Avril. At 25 or 20 euros, depending on whether you are a team of six or eight people, this first day will have made it possible to collect around 500 euros for the benefit of children with cancer. “It’s one of our top four causes along with the environment, hunger and diabetes.says the president. We have contacted the CHUs on the island and those in the North and South have informed us of their needs for childhood cancer services, this money will be used for that.” Young, the Lions Club of Étang-Salé is only eight months old, but multiplies the actions on the commune and elsewhere, thanks “with great support” of the municipality. One of the next actions will be a big concert to help a school in the Central African Republic.
