At the end of the garbage project, the singer-songwriter Eric Udo Zschiesche came to the elementary school in Burgsinn with his hands-on program “The wrong garbage men”.
For an hour, the students were garbage detectives. Everyone was quiet as a mouse waiting for the music theater to start. Then came the full-blooded musician, with his guitar and harmonica, and quickly got the children singing along with his stirring and thought-provoking songs. The serious topic of illegal waste disposal was presented in a funny way.
The actor slipped into various roles, from the schoolchild to the polluter and the policeman. In the end, of course, the rubbish was disposed of properly and the children helped with sorting. This measure was funded by the Main-Spessart district office.
The students of the first and second grades were able to put themselves in the position of the school children, because only a few weeks ago they were out and about as “cleaners” and had cleared the area around the school and the playground of rubbish.
In the weeks before, a campaign on the subject of rubbish ran in every class of the primary and middle school at the Sinn elementary school. For example, garbage monsters were made from old packaging, garbage elfs were written, ten rules for avoiding garbage for schools were compiled and presented, and a “clean up rap” was sung.
The third class will take part next week in a study on the use of a waste separation app in cooperation with the University of Würzburg.
All students took part in the garbage collection day before the Pentecost holidays to free the place from unnecessary garbage in and around Burgsinn.
