Carrying out cleaning, replanting, fertilization, sanitary control and monitoring of the more than 4,500 trees of native timber species that were planted several months ago on the Santa Magdalena property in Elías, is the purpose of an initiative.
According to reports from the mayor’s office led by Helman Ricaute Vargas Salas, the purpose is to guarantee that the process of converting the property into a strategic forest reserve is maintained.
To this end, through the SECOP Electronic Public Procurement System, progress is being made in the formalization of a contract that makes it possible to permanently carry out conservation and maintenance work.
The Santa Magdalena property is located in the El Viso village and has planted in the eastern stage about 4,500 trees of the Gualanday, Ocobo, Trapiche, Carbonero, Casco de Vaca, Cachingo, Cedro, Coffee Walnut, Nacedero, Balso, Urapan, Igua species. , Samán and Arrayan.
It is hoped that this new environmental reserve, in addition to regulating the climate, stabilizing the land, contributing to biodiversity and improving the landscape, will serve in the future as a place to visit for residents and tourists.
