The recent Paris-Roubaix cycling monument was also the last event where we saw the Slovak champion Petr Sagan in the jersey of the BORA-hansgrohe team. During their five years of cooperation, they have achieved several great successes together, and the end is a loss for both parties.

We will see Perta Sagan from the new season in the jersey of the French stable TotalEnergies. Before that, however, he took the time and space to say goodbye to the entire BORA-hansgrohe team. “When you enjoy what you do in a pleasant company, time flies! It seems like yesterday when I shook hands with Ralph Denk and joined the BORA-hansgrohe family. But 5 years have passed since then! ” said a native of Žilina on social networks.
Petr Sagan’s collaboration with the German BORA-hansgrohe team lasted five years, during which the Tourminator became world champion, winning Paris-Roubaix, twice the green jersey at the Tour de France, once the cyclamen jersey at the Giro d’Italia and many other races.
“It was quite an emotional moment for me when I had the last dinner and party after Paris – Roubaix with team riders, colleagues and sponsors. I’m looking forward to the next chapter of my professional career, but at the same time I have nice memories of the time we spent together.
During those years, we celebrated a lot of success together and supported each other, but we also had some difficult times. From my point of view, this team spirit strengthened us in good and bad times, “ continued the early 32-year-old cyclist.

Petr Sagan’s breakup with the BORA-hansgrohe cycling stable has been sealed for a long time. At times, it seemed that the parties were diverging in evil.

After the 2021 season, in addition to the brothers Petr and Juraj Saganov, their compatriot Erik Baška and also sports director Ján Valach leave the team from Raubling, Germany. Peter Sagan and Ján Valach will continue in the French team TotalEnergies, Juraj Sagan and Erik Baška do not have a certain future yet.
Of the Slovaks who were in other positions in the BORA-hansgrohe team, Peter Kalány remains, who was promoted to the higher position of physiotherapist and nutrition specialist as well as mechanic Ján Bachleda.
