An Emirati academic deletes the tweet, “The role of the Arab Quartet is over,” and explains the reason

Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – Emirati political science professor, Abdul Khaleq Abdullah, deleted a tweet in which he talked about “the end of the role of the Arab Quartet,” saying that deleting a tweet that annoyed those who “respect and appreciate him” is considered a “virtue.”

Abdullah had posted a tweet on February 6, in which he said: “The axis of the Arab Quartet, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the Emirates, Bahrain, has fulfilled its role, ended and has become a thing of the past. The axes are generally temporary and circumstantial. They fulfill their purpose and their powers expire to give way to the emergence of another axis.” .

The Emirati academic added in that tweet: “The Abu Dhabi Summit laid the foundations for a new Arab axis and confirmed that the nation’s leadership is from the Gulf until further notice.”

And Abdullah deleted that tweet, and said in another tweet, on Friday: “It is better and safer to delete a tweet that is misunderstood, misused, or carries unbearable contents, but if the tweet causes inconvenience to someone you respect and appreciate and do not wish to disturb, then it becomes delete the tweet.” One of the virtues,” he said.

The Abu Dhabi summit, which was held last January, witnessed the participation of Egypt, Jordan, Bahrain, Oman and Qatar, in addition to the host, the UAE, while Saudi Arabia did not participate in this summit.
