UK prices for the new Vauxhall Frontera have been revealed

Opel has announced UK prices for the new Vauxhall Frontera. As 32CARS.RU journalists learned, both fully electric and petrol versions will cost from £ 23,495 (about 2.8 million rubles). This is the first time that price parity has been achieved between an ICE vehicle and an all-electric version of the same model, proving that EV prices are still falling.

Both variants will be available in two trim levels – Design and GS – and all versions will go on sale in the autumn. The electric version of the Frontera will be offered with a 44 kWh battery, and in 2025 a version with a larger range and larger battery capacity will appear.

Although the Frontera slots between the Vauxhall Mokka and the new Grandland in size, it costs less thanks to using the Stellantis ‘Smart Car’ platform, which also underpins the Citroen C3 and it -New C3, as well as the upcoming Fiat platform. Grande Panda and other models.

The petrol version of the Frontera Hybrid is powered by a 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbo engine, supported by a small 28bhp electric motor mated to a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. This hybrid system works on a 48-volt electrical architecture, but it cannot work on electrical power alone for a long time.

This hybrid engine will be offered in two power options: 99 hp. and 205 Nm of torque or 136 hp. and 230 Nm. The first version accelerates to 100 km/h in 11 seconds, and the more powerful version in 9 seconds.

The Design version is equipped with a 136 hp engine. That costs £1,500 more than the 99PS model at £24,995.

The battery in the electric version of the Frontera is the same as the Citroen e-C3 – 44 kWh, powering the front electric motor with a power of 111 hp. The car can cover up to 300 km on one charge using the WLTP cycle, and a quick charge of 100 kW allows you to charge the battery from 20 to 80% in 26 minutes. Acceleration to 100 km / h takes 12.1 seconds, and the maximum speed is 140 km / h. In 2025, a Long Range version will appear with a range of up to 400 km.

Standard equipment on both the hybrid and electric design variants includes automatic LED headlights, 16-inch steel wheels with plastic trim and black bumpers. Inside, there are two 10-inch displays on the dashboard, support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and wireless smartphone charging. Rear parking sensors, rearview camera, cruise control, lane keeping assist and traffic sign recognition are also included.

On the richer GS trim, standard equipment includes 17-inch alloy wheels, body-colored bumpers, a black roof with tinted rear windows, LED headlights and folding mirrors. Inside, the GS model offers automatic climate control, comfort front seats, front parking sensors and blind spot monitoring.
